Travel by The Detour Lab

The Detour Lab has done all the travel research so you don’t have to. We’ve tested, experimented, and explored. And now we are creating one-of-a-kind trips for the most curious travelers. This is custom travel beyond the guidebook.

Detour: (n.) The long way around or an alternative route, commonly unexpected or surprising as a result of a change to a common plan or course.

OR

DEtour: (v.) DE- when used as a prefix means to separate from or remove something (e.g. deplane) or the opposite of an action (e.g. deactivate, decode). To travel independently, to remove oneself from the tour group style of travel.

Example:For this trip, we decided to de-tour. We were the only ones at this waterfall. We never would have found it on our own. “ (see waterfall to the left)

The Detour Lab provides custom travel beyond the guidebook. We help people get lost- on purpose. No two trips we plan are the same.

With the Lab’s help, Michael and his travel buddy visited the capitals of the Baltic nations, road-tripped through Latvia, and relaxed like locals along the Baltic Sea at the world’s 2nd longest sand spit.
